For best results, supply Don Shafer Display, Inc. with a digital file of your logo. Follow our simple instructions when preparing your file or supplying artwork via FTP for a trouble free order. If you do not have a digital file, please call for a quote on recreating your artwork.
Preparing Artwork
1. When preparing your Illustrator or Freehand file, please convert your fonts to paths (curves, outlines, etc.) or include both the screen and printer fonts. If you are unsure how to do this, call (1.888.346.2512) to see if we have your font in our extensive library.
2. Your artwork should be saved as vector line art. A TIFF, JPEG, GIF or BMP saved as an EPS is not considered line art. If this is what is submitted, we will call you to discuss the recreation of your logo. In the event that we have to recreate your artwork, a fax or e-mail proof will be submitted for your review. We will need an approval before we begin production.
3. All PMS colors should either be specified on the digital file or indicated on a color print out. If your file contains only CMYK values, we will print your order per those values. In that instance, we cannot guarantee the colors will match PMS colors.
Instructions for Artwork Supply via FTP (Access to FTP Site)
1. Determine what FTP program you will be using. If you do not have one, you can download free trials at the following websites:
2. When you open the program, you will be asked for the following information:
1. Server: 68.96.28.35
2. User name: Shafer (not case sensitive)
3. Password: Artwork (not case sensitive)
4. Under Preferences, use Passive Mode
5. Push Connect
3. Whether taking (downloading) or placing (uploading) artwork, please make sure you are in the correct folder, so your job does not get misplaced or mixed up with another job.
4. When placing artwork, please be consistent in putting all files associated with your event or job in the same folder and labeling it accordingly.
